Our Legal Services
Project ANAR has directly assisted over 2,000 Afghans with immigration legal needs. We focus on pathways for those seeking refuge and family reunification in the U.S., affirmative services for newly arrived Afghans, removal defense, and release assistance for Afghans detained in ICE custody in immigration prisons around the country.
Affirmative Legal Services for Parolees
Project ANAR offers affirmative legal services for Afghan parolees primarily in the Bay Area, Northern California. We focus on asylum legal services and offer asylum workshops throughout the year, education, outreach, and other legal resources. We have also offered re-parole and family reunification services. Please reach out if you are in need of services, you assist Afghans who might benefit from our services, or your organization may benefit from a presentation or training from our staff.
Removal Defense
Project ANAR has spearheaded efforts to offer legal services to Afghans seeking asylum in the United States after arriving via the Southern Border. We primarily offer a series of defensive asylum workshops. Please reach out if we can partner with you to meet this need in your community. The majority of our workshops that occur more regularly are in the DMV and Northern California.
You can email us or utilize the screening form below if it is available.
Detention Services
We assist detained community members in immigration prisons across the country. Please reach out and we will do our best to quickly screen any detained Afghans. We do not always have capacity to offer full scope representation, but have assisted dozens of Afghans in obtaining their release from immigration detention, and several with passing Credible Fear Interviews and obtaining asylum. You can refer clients to us by emailing us or filling out our screening form. If you fill out our form, please be sure to include the A# and the detention center and any other information about where the individual is in their process.
